چکیده

The design and implementation of a 1.9GHz radio frequency transmit beacon is presented. The beacon is completely selfcontained, and all necessary energy is scavenged through solar and vibrational energy sources. Custom RF integrated circuitry and energy scavenging devices are used to create a highly integrated and efficient beacon. The 1.9GHz direct modulated transmitter uses a micromachined resonator and requires no other external components, inductors, or crystals. The beacon achieves duty cycles up to 100% for typical ambient solar conditions and 2.6% for typical ambient vibrational conditions.

A (6x3)cm Self-Contained Energy-Scavenging Wireless Sensor Network Node

The Quark node combines off-the-shelf components and two custom CMOS chips to implement a PicoRadio wireless sensor-network node that runs solely from energy scavenged from the environment. The node supports a >10m indoor transmission range with automatic multi-hop routing for longer distances. Node functionality includes a 50kbps on-off keyed physical layer, a cycled-receiver MAC algorithm wit...

Scalable, Ad Hoc Deployable RF-based Localization

Spatial localization or the ability to locate nodes is an important building block for next generation pervasive computing systems, but a formidable challenge, particularly, for very small hardware and energy constrained devices, for noisy, unpredictable environments and for very large ad hoc deployed and networked systems. In this paper, we describe, validate and evaluate in real environments ...

Assessment of the Characteristics of MRI Coils in Terms of RF Non-Homogeneity Using Routine Spin Echo Sequences

Introduction: One of the major causes of image non-uniformity in MRI is due to the existence of  non-homogeneity in RF receive and transmit. This can be the most effective source of error in  quantitative  studies  in  MRI  imaging.  Part  of  this  non-homogeneity  demonstrates  the  characteristics of RF coil and part of it is due to the interaction of RF field with the material being  imaged...

Asymptotically Optimal Power Allocation for Wireless Powered Communication Network with Non-orthogonal Multiple Access

In this chapter, we investigate a wireless powered communication network (WPCN) comprised of a power beacon that broadcasts radio frequency (RF) energy to a set of energy harvesting (EH) transmitters equipped with unlimited batteries, which use the harvested energy to transmit information back to the power-beacon in a non-orthogonal multiple access fashion. For this network, we propose a commun...

3-D RF Coil Design Considerations for MRI

High-frequency coils are widely used in medical applications, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems. A typical medical MRI includes a local radio frequency transmit/receive coil. This coil is designed for maximum energy transfer or wave transfer through magnetic resonance. Mutual inductance is a dynamic parameter that determines the energy quantity to be transferred wirelessly by ele...
